The problem with mental health programs and how we fix them

Heartbreaking and negative headlines about college students, departments, coaches, and staff keep coming, and they won't stop unless we collectively do something to prevent them.

Most mental health interventions for well-being are directed at the individual level and do not tackle the causes of stress on campuses.

How we are different. 👇🏽

Our Approach

PERSONALIZED SELF-CARE & Campus WELLNESS RESOURCES

Every student deserves access to the support they need to thrive in their academic careers. 🤗

  • Wellness U serves as a self-help resource hub. Students can access student & student-athlete specific wellness techniques through videos, relaxation exercises, yoga, mood tracking tools, and exercises to improve emotional health.

CONFIDENTIAL WELLNESS REPORTS & SUPPORT INDICATORS

How do you know if it works if you don't measure it?  🤔

  • Sentiments on belonging, safety, support, and more.
  • Provides ADs, Coaches, and the Student Life Department opportunities to positively influence program conditions.
  • Understand key support indicators to influence a more positive culture and foster greater connections.

Our Process

Peer Support Training

  • Brief Emotional Support Teams (BEST) leverages the like experiences of peers in providing emotional support following difficult events. Who knows better about the challenges experienced on campus than peers.

  • Training for Brief Emotional Support Teams (BEST) uses current best practices and strong evidence to provide support via psychological first aid, crisis intervention, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing elements.

This tool is a cutting-edge method to strengthen your student body and build a healthier, stronger, and more viable community.

Group, or 1-on-1 coaching - it's not just for the athletes.

“Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”- John Wooden. The one characteristic common to all high-performing individuals, from executives to athletes, is that they all have a coach.

The Accentus Health apps are 100% confidential, and we do not sell any anonymous data.  The app does not track location or IP address nor ask for emails, telephone numbers, birthdates, or names.  No personal information/assessment answers are traceable back to any user.  Codes given by an organization can not be associated with a real person.  The app stores assessment scores and content to access timestamps against an anonymous user ID and knows the history of the anonymous user ID but can not associate any data with a real person.  For more information, please visit our Privacy Policy

Users log in confidentially even with a code provided to them by an organization. The code is used to utilize specific help resources within the apps and help understand the culture within a community.

There is no cost to an individual. It is free to download from the Apple app store and Google Play store. The organization takes on the cost of the wellness platform.

Clinically tested methods and backed by research from the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Kenneth Yeager, Ph.D., L.I.S.W. developed the methods used in the app. The study and testing found that the training method for vicarious trauma decreased burnout measures sustained for several months. The Wellness U app uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and cognitive processing therapy techniques. These approaches help to address common effects of exposure to trauma; these include but are not limited to hyper-vigilance avoidance, trust, control, and intimacy (sharing and processing exposure to a trauma with others). As the stress responses progress, individuals become at greater risk of depression, anxiety, substance misuse, sleep disturbance, and unexplained anger, to name a few. The app provides an effective way to understand how to manage your response to stress and anxiety.

No.  The two apps are entirely different and are completely separate.  The Optimum U Health Coaching app is provided to help those looking for an opportunity to increase their physical health and mental health.  We believe the two go together. - it is hard to be healthy in one without the other.

The pricing varies by the size of the company and the services requested. The app and primary platform start at $30 per member annually, with additional costs for add-on services such as the BEST program and multiple departments or team reporting. Please email us to get specific pricing for your organization. support@accentushealth.com
